LGI Diet Homemade Pita Chips

Wholewheat pita bread has been rated as a MEDIUM glycemic load on the Glycemic index of foods.   Use these tasty chips to satisfy your bread craving with yummy egg salad or tuna salad!  Enjoy

1 package of wholewheat pita bread
Olive Oil Spray
Salt
Pepper
Onion Powder
Garlic Powder

Preheat oven to 350 degrees

Spray pita loaf on both sides with Olive Oil Spray

Sprinkle to taste with Salt, Pepper, Onion Powder and Garlic Powder (or whatever seasonings you like, my children also like a little chili powder)

Back in oven until pita bread is hard, paying close attention to the middle which will remain soft the longest.

Usually about 10 minutes but watch them in your oven incase it's sooner.

Take out and let cool

Once cooled break up into pieces and enjoy!

I only cook 3 pita's at a time, and originally when I first made them I opened the pita bread, but more recently (because I'm lazy) I just cooked it whole and it's just as good!
